Mostly, I am really, really enjoying pregnancy and I feel so blessed that I have felt so good.
I will say though that I will be quite happy to dig into some fresh buffala mozzarella, feta cheese and Chick-fil-a sweet tea again!
What kinds of foods did you miss during pregnancy?
Kelly
Coke! Feta, Bleu Cheese, and bacon (because it's giving me killer heartburn these days).
ReplyDeleteSushi!
ReplyDeleteYou know you can get pasteurized feta cheese at the grocery store that is safe to eat, right? Just check the label to make sure it is made from pasteurized milk. Same for any other soft cheeses - just check the label. It's the unpasteurized ones that can be a problem.

Sandwiches with lunch meat (particularly Subway) and hot dogs. Those are things that I don't really eat regularly and I wouldn't call them favorite foods, but when I can't have them I really really want them. Weird I know. :-)
ReplyDeletecoke, coffee, lunch meat, and blue cheese dressing!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture on this post. It is a DOWN day and the picture made me soooooooo hungry. Keep smiling! Little one will be here before you know it! Nana and Ducca can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not going to lie to you. I really didn't give up anything. I did make sure my soft cheeses were pasteurized. However, I drank my one Diet Coke every single day and drank tea some days. I also had lunch meat. I had to lay off any kind of spaghetti sauce items because they gave me heartburn, but that's it. However, you're doing a great thing giving stuff up!!!
ReplyDeleteI probably would have missed all of those things if I had known I wasn't supposed to eat them. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really remember "missing" any foods when I was pregnant (I probably was not as careful as I should have been), but when I was nursing Eli I COULD NOT drink Diet Coke. The caffeine made him C-R-A-N-K-Y (I'm talking screaming the night away cranky) and it was sooo not worth it. The caffeine free kind just isn't worth it either. There were days when I thought I just might die.
I've made up for all those days in spades, though.
I was only careful with the things that made me sick. Other than that, I totally overdid the sweet tea! I have to be more careful about caffeine when I'm nursing than when I'm pregnant. But I still have my tea every day!
