just a date I don't want to forget

I don't even have a photo to go along with this post but I just want to record for myself to remember the fun "with baby date" we had tonight. We were a happy threesome. Adrian had seen a tweet about a Greek Food Festival in Euless this weekend. We decided to go tonight.

It was SO much fun. I've never been to a Greek food festival before but I have been to Greece. :) As we drove onto the road where the festival was we saw swarms of cars and people wandering around. After finding a place to park we got out, popped the stroller out of the trunk and felt the lovely cool breeze and smelled the amazing aroma of cooking meat in the air.

Oh yum! As we approached we began to hear loud Greek music and shouts of "Opa!" There was a Greek dance troop performing on the stage. As we maneuvered the stroller over the gravel lot we drank in the sights and sounds.

We almost stopped short at the booth with a long line selling gyros and even hot dogs but luckily we dug a little deeper and found the Greek dinner tent in the back. We had an absolutely delicious meal of gyro salad, pastitsio, dolmathes, tiropitas & a slice of Greek bread. Oh and I got a Sprite to drink, in the can, because that's what I would always have in Greece with my gyro. It's like I have to drink Sprite (out of the can, it's the only way) with Greek food. I hardly ever drink it otherwise.

People stopped us to compliment us on our baby which we never mind. :)
The guy serving the drinks actually ended up being the guy who Adrian follows on Twitter who tweeted about the festival in the first place - fun.

Going home we could see that 121 was backed up so we made a quick exit onto William D. Tate to avoid the traffic. Our wee one does not like to sit still in the car. :)

"Just so happened" that a neighborhood Italian restaurant that serves gelato called our name for a sweet treat before heading home to put the munchkin to bed. Belgian chocolate gelato eaten outside at a little cafe table in the cool fall evening in Texas was a treat indeed.

We have a good life.

I always want to be thankful for the blessings of times like this to spend together.

Kelly

p.s. If you live in the area you should check it out on Sunday. It will still be going on. Let me know if you do!

Fun times! I would have actually been happy with a gyro. I loved those things when we visited Greece. Glad it was a good date night. Love you 3.

I'm not with you on the greek food thing. The only greek food I ever recall enjoying was with my uncle in Dallas at a place called Ali Baba's. The best roasted chicken, humus and pita, and tabouli. But the ambiance sounds so fun. I'm glad you guys had fun. And as far as little man not liking car rides... thats one thing that's much better with the second one who has all the entertainment they need in the back seat with an older brother. Love you!
