Do you have any neat museums around that you have "always" meant to go visit? Most of my ideas are things meant to get the girls out of the house, so they are kid friendly. Do you have any friends who would let you borrow their kids? You could take them to a splash park and play in the water with them. Or take them to the children's museum.
Hi Kelly - I found you through Meg D's "whatever" blog. Here's my favorite cooling trick:
Dip your finger in a glass of ice cold water and then trace the outside rim of each ear with that finger (from top to lobe). An instant cool down. The ears are the gateway to your body's cooling system. Or so someone once told me. Who knows if it's true, but that trick REALLY works and is super handy in the summer for someone like me, who gets super cranky when she's hot. -kate

I'm getting my fix of Tennessee sweet tea before I come Texas and have to sweeten it myself. It's just not the same...

We spent several hours at the pool today which is definitely a great way to cool off and burn up energy. Now everyone is resting in the a/c!
Get out your spray bottle and squirt your feet. Surprisingly refreshing. Ask Adrian about it - we used to do that at Lake Powell.
Visit the snow cone stand or have some ice cream or gelato. Of course mine would have something to do with food. :)
