I'm there, Kel! In '05 when I had Ranger, it was so frustrating b/c those signs were everywhere and NONE of them were for new babies. Thankfully, by '07 and '09 they had a clue and all of the walmarts/krogers are for expectant mothers AND mothers of babies. I loved the kicks and moves. The other day, I had some feeling in my tummy and instinctively grabbed my belly. Then I was like, "oh...no baby there." Thank God. My 3 keep me more than busy. But I loved all of it and am thankful for my 3 healthy pregnancies.
One of our HEB's down here has two full rows of "mothers with children" parking spots! You'll need those soon.
Just see Christian's Easter post to see what I love about a new baby...I can't WAIT.
Other faves about a new baby: smell of the head, teeny diapers, holding holding holding baby, the super-flexible moldableness of newborns...and when they gain a little weight: hand and elbow dimples!
My favorite thing about when Daniel was born was getting to do "kangaroo care". Just minutes after he was weighed and measured, they put a diaper and a hat on him and tucked him up under my hospital gown so we were skin to skin. He was so calm the second he heard my heartbeat and felt my warmth. I could just tear-up thinking about that special moment! My other two were "burritoed" immediately and didn't get to do "kangaroo care" right away.
I love the way babies smell, I love their little fuzzy heads, I love their little fingers and toes, and I LOVE it especially when I know I will get to be their Nana all of their life.
