o happy day!

We went to the pediatrician today and this big boy has gained just over one pound two ounces from his birth weight! Yea!!!

The really, really, really happy part of that for his mama is that the pediatrician gave me the go ahead to go off his cues during the nighttime of when he needs to be fed rather than setting an alarm to wake him up and feed him. I have been feeding approximately every three hours during the night and therefore only getting to sleep in stretches of 1 1/2-2 hours. I am one tired mama!

I am sooo happy to be able to sleep longer. I feel like doing the happy dance but I'm too tired. :) I am dancing inside for sure.

I hope little man agrees. Seeing as how I generally have to wake him for feedings though I am hopeful.

And in other happy news of the day, every part of today's outfit is non-maternity clothes! Yippee! Now granted the skirt is a stretchy one that I wore the entire pregnancy but hey, it's technically not maternity clothes and the shirt is not for sure. I also managed to put on a necklace and {some} make-up for our venture out to the pediatrician's. Now my poor hair is another matter but no one seemed to really notice it. :) At least I hope not. It will all come, right?

So what is happy in your world today? Leave me a comment so I can do the happy dance inside for you too. :)

Kelly

I am happy for YOU! None--not one of my three has weighed more than their birth weight at their 2 week check ups. I can't believe that your little guy has gained over a pound and he isn't even officially two weeks old yet! Yea! Now you get to sleep longer and I think that it is clear that you don't have to worry about whether or not your supply of milk is adequate. Obviously the little guy is getting exactly what he needs.

My specific prayer tonight will be that you get at least one good long stretch of sleep and that you don't panic when you wake up and realize how long you got to sleep. :-)

P.S. What a great picture! I can't believe you got a picture of him smiling already. Katelyn is smiling, but not a lot yet and we haven't caught a really good one on camera yet. She gets really serious whenever I bring out the camera.

AFTER you take a nap you can do the happy dance that I had the last two days off of school and that my corn is two inches high!

Yea! Adorable picture. It is SO much better to feed off their cues as long as they are healthy and gaining weight. That is so wonderful, yippee for sleep! And for clothes! No one will notice the hair when you have a cute little bundle in your arms!
I am happy that Hannah is about to be the Little Red Hen tonight and Carter has apparently stopped throwing up. :-)

There is life after night time feedings. We had twins and they were sleeping through the night at three months. Which meant 11pm and 5 or 6 am feedings.

He is just the cutest thing ever.

One pound and one ounce... I'd say that nursing is going just fine! Way to grow baby boy!

Yay! I am doing the happy dance with you. Ironically, if you are blessed enough to get a 4-6 hour stretch of sleep this week, it will be your breasts that wake you up. (This is probably the only legal situation to actually leave a comment with the b word in it :) You are doing fantastic Kel and I have no doubt that your awesome Mama G helped you immensely. Please tell her "hello" from me.
