pumpkins?

I'm just wondering if any of you have seen pumpkins used at a wedding in a really great way?

I'm undecided as to whether or not any of these wonderful fall icons will be making any sorts of appearances/cameos at our wedding.  I don't want our wedding to look like a hayride or a Halloween party.  I don't want it to look over-the-top fall and I'm leaning toward not using them and yet I think I may be missing something great.  I would love to hear if you've seen/used them and especially to see pictures if you have them.  Thanks!  Kelly

Hey girl! I don't know how "wedding" it is but one thing I've seen with the smaller pumpkins is using them as luminaries. Instead of jack o lantern face there were just holes drilled through them all over with a candle inside. Kinda polkadot looking. Just a thought. Love ya!

Happy LATE birthday! I thought about you all day yesterday, but we were at camp. We just got home today, and you know what today is--Joshua's birthday! He wants to go to a Japanese restaurant for dinner. That's what every 7 year old picks for their birthday meal, right??? :)

Kelly, I tend to agree with you that pumpkins would probably be a little too seasonal, Fall festival-ish for an elegant wedding. However, if anyone can figure out a way to incorporate them beautifully, I know it will be you. I don't have any great ideas... perhaps Martha Stewart does...

spray paint the pumpkins white, hit them with subtle glitter spray in gold or silver. carve a fancy monogram of your initials or last name. surround with ones that are carved in the "holes allover way " suggested above...trail with vines sprayed in glitter spray... maybe add a glass slipper? :)
